I have never actually decided on a movie by just looking at the promos. I visit Apple.com/trailers often to watch trailers of upcoming releases. Infact the way trailers are done these days, the guys who create them deserver a lot more recognition. But alas, this view of mine was shattered by the latest bollywood super flick, 'RGV Ki Aag'. One look at the promos, and I knew this was going to sweeps all the The Razzie Awards if we had them in Bollywood. It looks shockingly deplorable.
So please, don't waste your money and time on this worthless piece of crap, donate the money to some charities instead!

It's US Open!
Ok, with the last grand slam of 2007 already a day old, let me let the world know my favorites. I would like Rafa to win this one beating Roger in the finals in 4 sets. And for the ladies, I really like Bartoli. She is what I say, charming. So Bartoli in the ladies singles.
Of course, my favorites, are just that. I remember this one time, when I had confidently picked the 4 who would make it to the semis, after having a look at the quarter-final draw, and they all lost.
On another note, Massa won. Yeah, he won. This was a good result as it reduces Lewis's lead in the Championship. It looks like it will go down to the wire this year. And I hope it's a scarlet wire that stays ahead!
PS: My hundredth post, hurray!!!

Putters and Racers
Phew! What a race! Cars going off at the first corner was so comical. I have never been so amused in F1. Thanks to the TV crews for the way they captured the making of the most expensive car park.
Restarting the race was sensible, as Weber mentioned in the post race conference. And talking about the post race events. I for a moment thought that Massa and Alonso would actually end up in a fist fight on the podium. Schumi must have been wondering why did he leave F1 for guy like Massa. Massa, to be frank may have the pace in the qualifying. But when it comes to racing under pressure, I don't think he has what it takes to become a world champion. He just loses it. Alonso did a good job with the overtaking and he deserved the win.
Now focusing on the other big sports event of the day, the British Open. And the contrast between the two couldn't be greater. In one the racers are driving past at 300kmph and in the other they players are strolling on pristine grass on a sunny day. Yeah, I was watching it on and off. And then Sergio missed the put on the 18th hole and the playoff was called upon to decide the winner I was all hooked. I know the basics of golf, not the finer details like what happens when you drive the ball into a pond or stream. But that's another discussion, on another day. Getting back to the play off, you somehow knew at the back of the mind that it was not going to be Sergio's day after the way the ball kissed the edge on the 18th. And Harrington was so calm and composed. By far the best Open championships for a very long time.

Be happy, blog happy!
I wish I find more happy blogs instead of the sad ones, or the advertisement ones or the informercials ones. How come people generally blog about how nothing went right the whole day. I find scores of people blogging about how things can get no worse. I myself blog about the negative aspects of my life more often. What is this about the human being that makes him want to publish his misfortunes so that it is available to the whole wide world?
I hardly know of any blog that celebrated all the good fortune they had?

Tennis
It was legendary, the match. Reminded me of Stefan and Boris's classics. And I hope, really hope we have 3 in a row next year. The last time that I really felt privileged was while watching the Rafter v/s Goran in the finals. That too was phenomenal.
I think Rafa almost had Roger. The way he won the fourth set, and the way Roger lost it questioning the Hawk eye, unbelievable. I have never seen Roger so frustrated. I thought Roger didn't have that emotion within himself. He demeanors oncourt are so pristine.
And then in the fifth Roger proved why he is regarded as one of the greatest player of my time. He held on to his serve twice and then he broke Rafa. How very often, in Men’s tennis, Championships are decided on one single game. This was one such occasion. Though I so badly wanted Rafa to win this one, I cannot, but bow to the greatness of Roger, his class, his tennis on grass.
Well done Roger, you deserved it. And Rafa, I hope you can beat him next year!

Rafa!
He is the best. When you see him play Federer on clay, Ferderer looks so ordinary. Federer doesn't look hungry enough. It's more like he sees Nadal as a hindrance to his Grand Slam dream than a final step. FedEx has to realise that to be remembered as the greatest he has to defeat Nadal in a French Open and claim his Grand Slam. And it has to be a defeat over Nadal.
