Ola LAKSHADWEEP

   Last week I was vacationing, in LAKSHADWEEP! What a beautiful place. It felt like I was in paradise, away from family, colleagues, work, phones, everything. Just me and my very close friends.
   We boarded a cruise, "Tippu Sultan" to the islands. It would take us to 3 islands. It would drop us on to the islands in the mornings and then pick us up in the evening. All day we would spend on the picturesque beaches swimming, kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving or just plain talking with each other. I enjoyed every moment. The water is of all shades from green to blue, it's clear and with corals.
For those of you who may have seen the pictures of it, the islands are truly like how it is shown in the pictures.

General information about the islands
*There are 36 islands
*Kavaratti is the capital
*There is only on cell phone provider on the main island, BSNL, and they don't allow roaming on their network
*ISD/STD booths are present, but there are very few of them
*The locals speak Malayalam
*The only place I know in India with coral reefs, and according to a person who has seen the Great Barrier Reef, these corals are as good as the ones there.

   The cruise is arranged by a group called SPORTS, Lakshadweep with offices in Cochin. The cruise is very decently managed. They serve good enough food. Ship ride itself is very smooth.
