Babel & Hotel Rwanda

Ah.. What a weekend. When I have nothing to do, I normally watch movies. And watch all kinds. Hmm except maybe Hindi b-grade masala skin flicks. Watching them is a torture. Anyways, I must say most of the movies I watch are generally recommended b y friends. Also I must say, I generally go by the reviews. Once in a while I do experiment. So this weekend I saw a couple. The first one was Babel. Recommended by a friend who has an interesting choice of movies. Since it was playing in a theatre nearby, I went and saw it, that too alone. Not many of my friends prefer a movie like Babel. Infact many declined to accompany me. But that’s ok. So I went alone. I think it was a good movie. Somewhat similar to Crash. Brad Pitt was amazing, so were most of the cast. I guess the point the director wanted to make got across to me. No matter how many mediums of communications we have, it’s emotions more than words that communicate or mis-communicate rather. Then on Sunday I decided to watch Hotel Rwanda. And it made me cry. I wish I could say that it was a good movie, but frankly I wish we never had to make that movie. I wish I could just not acknowledge that some thing like that could happen during my times. Sometimes, it's such a shame to be a human being. And when I read news even today, these things continue to happen. Humans are capable of so much cruelty, capable of transforming into monsters.
I really admire you, Paul Rusesabagina!
Bloggers, if you haven't watched the movie, I recommend you do. We need to atleast experience the terror of a massacre, luckily through a television while sitting in a couch.
